This blog will serve to document the assembly of a Soma Wolverine Rohloff commuter bike. This is my first time building a bike, so the possibility for disaster exists. There should be plenty of pictures showing the build (or disaster).

Pics - FINALLY
Just realized I never posted pictures of the completed bike, so here are a few.
i've also just got myself a wolverine but will be running a derailleur. im not familiar with internal rear hub, notice that you install cable housing through out the bike. 1. may i know what downtube guide stop is that? how thick is your shifter housing? 2. are you using the frame stock bottom bracket cable guide? how do you secure your cables below the bb?
hope u can share more pics on the setup
i would like to run full cable housing, they are 4mm thick. im not sure if i can run them below the bottom bracket and secure them somehow
The Rohloff shift cable housings are 5mm in diameter. I used Origin8 cable stops which attached to the bosses on the frame perfectly. I removed the adjustment barrels and drilled out the threads to accommodate the full housing with a 7/32 inch drill bit. I used vise grips (with jaws padded) to hold the stops still during the drilling. If you use 4mm housing, a 3/16 inch bit would work, or they might slide through as is.
The downtube cable guide I used was an Origin8 dual cable guide (31.8mm size). I think they make a single cable version too.
I considered running the cables under the bottom bracket, which would probably be the best solution for a derailleur setup. The BB cable guide that comes with the frame won't work with full housing, but save the screw. Google images of CABLE CLAMP and you'll likely find something that would work.
your drilling on the origin8 cable stops is interesting, i like it!
i found something interesting in taobao (sort of like china ebay). it seems to be a cable guide below the bb and it shd be able to hold 5mm cable housing. http://world.taobao.com/item/45774063855.htm?spm=a312a.7700714.0.0.7e7XNV
looks good(even w/ out drops). I'm bout to get one myself and have been reading your blog.
